What do you do after you have done all you know to do???
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, Ephesians 6:13-14 (NIV)
There are certain principles which according to human calculations and expectations should yield specific results. Exemplify, if a student attends lectures, does all assignments, and studies hard for the exams, s/he will certainly get good grades.
Or if a person with a good business plan and sufficient capital invests in a viable business then she is expected to get reasonable profit. Likewise if a well-qualified job seeker applies for a job, and performs excellently in the interview process he will certainly get the job.
Now when you have satisfied all the necessary requirements or conditions and you do not get the expected result…what then should you do?
What do you do when you have prayed all you can, fasted all you can, and sowed all the seeds you can, yet the situation refuses to change…instead it gets worse? What do you do when you have done all you know to do?
This situation can be very perplexing. Because the more you try to explain your predicament to people the more they misunderstand you and the more confused you get. So when you have done all you know to do…then return to God.
Stop complaining to people, they don’t have what it takes to help you. Instead pray prayers of inquiring. Gather as much spiritual and physical information as you can access. This will enable you have proper understanding of the issues at hand.
Ephesians 6:13 admonishes us to “…put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground….”
‘The day of evil’ - is the day of temptations and trials: When you are violently assaulted on all sides. When you are doing everything right yet everything keeps going wrong. This is the period where your marriage is under attack, your children are under attack, your health, and finances in fact everything goes wrong at the same time.
Child of God trials are an essential ingredient to greatness; because trials bring patience and patience, proven character... (Romans 5:3-4).
Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 4:13“after you have done everything, to stand” verse 14 says “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,”
STAND FIRM!! Maintain your ground. To stand firm means to stand still. To stand still means to wait upon God. Please don’t attempt ‘self-help’.
Don’t compromise your integrity. Don’t contemplate taking the devils alternative. Let God be your plan A, B and C. Don’t be desperate because desperation is a snare.
Rather deploy divine weapons - truth, righteousness, peace, and wisdom are more than words. Learn how to apply them. Keep your eyes open and your spirit alert. Trust in God’s faithfulness; realize that God is making all things work together for your lifting.
Concentrate on taking things one day at a time. Daily make the right choices...Daily pray and study your Bible…Daily sing praises. Serve in your local Church. Feed your spirit and nurture your soul.
The accumulation of your daily victories will cause your faith, spiritual gifts and talents to mature. This will transform you into a carrier of God’s power and authority. With God’s power and authority you are bound to prevail.
So after you have done all you can ... just STANDSTILL!!
